Councils given power over parking

From June, councils in England will have the power to issue penalty charge notices (PCN) over dangerous or inconsiderate parkingThey will be able to do this without having in place specific traffic signs or road markings and is designed to stop motorists parking across dropped kerbs, driveways and from blocking the road to make it easier for wheelchair users and prams to manoeuvre on and off pavements. Motorists who park across private driveways can only be charged if the home owner requests that the council take action.
