Lane hogging fines operative from Friday
Anti-social motorists will receive on-the-spot fines for a range of careless driving actions
The Police will be able to fine a motorist £100 if they are caught doing a range of so-called anti-social driving practices, these include:
1. Middle land hogging
2. Tailgating
3. Failing to give way at a junction
4. Queue jumping
5. Using the wrong lane at a roundabout
6. Ignoring lane closure signs
Exactly how these measures are going to be enforced is yet to be seen, what with Police force cutbacks. You only have to look at the number of motorists using their mobile phone during the rush hour to see how the Police are stretched to catch motorists breaking the law.
