Speed limit confusion
A survey by the AA has discovered that an astonishing 250,000 drivers don’t know the motorway speed limit
One in ten motorists over the age of 65 doesn’t know the legal motorway speed limit. 8% of respondents got the answer wrong, 7% thought it was 80mph, whilst 1% thought it was 60mph.
It may be that the Transport minister’s recent announcement that the government were looking at increasing the motorway speed limit to 80mph may have cause the confusion.
