Transport for London has granted permanent access to London’s Red Route bus lanes for motorcyclists
After two extensive trials, motorcyclists will be allowed to use bus lanes from the 23rd January 2012. For full details of exactly which routes this access includes please visit the TfL webpage, http://www.tfl.gov.uk/motorcyclesinbuslanes. An estimated 50,000 journeys are made every day by motorcyclists in the London road network’s bus lanes. During the two trials, accident rates dropped significantly for motorcyclists and cyclists.
