M25 Speed limits to be introduced
The Highways Agency is to introduce new mandatory speed limits to a stretch of the M25
The 2.7 mile stretch, just east of Junction 10 in Surrey, will have new electronic overhead gantries to display the speed limit to drivers. Sensors in the road will detect the speed, volume and flow of traffic to then calculate the best speed for the road conditions to keep traffic flowing and avoid the usual stop start traffic flow pattern familiar to motorways.
