Highways Agency switch off the lights
In a move to cut carbon emissions and local light pollution, street lighting is being switched off
So far sections of the M4, M5 and M6 have all had their street lighting turned off as part of the ‘Efficiency Strategy for Road Lighting’ scheme from the Highways Agency. The scheme targets sections of road that have a good safety record and low levels of traffic.
