£30m investment for electric charging points

The government is to invest £30million in expanding the electric car charging point infrastructure, to include streets, car parks, retail, leisure and commercial areas.

The investment is intended to create between three and six electric cities to act as a focus for Britain’s electric future. The experiences of these areas will pave the way for future electric technology deployment. It is hoped that Britain will become an early adopter of electric technology thus opening up opportunities for jobs in the low-carbon automotive industry.
