A new Blue Badge designed with extra security features has come into force
The new Disabled Parking Badges include features such as a hologram, photo and unique serial number and are designed to make it easier for parking attendants to validate genuine badges.
Blue Badge fraud has been estimated to cost £46 million a year. Alongside the new badges other measures to increase cost efficiencies for the system are being introduced that could save £20 million every year.
