MET Police crackdown on uninsured drivers

1,000 MET Police officers will be involved in targeting uninsured drivers and seizing vehicles

In a regular series of operations officers will spend a day targeting those driving without insurance in bid to remove criminals from the road. Commissioner Bernhard Hogan-Howe says that “80% of uninsured drivers are more likely to be involved in crashes and drive unsafe vehicles”. The campaign follows a similar series of operations in Merseyside where crime fell by 40%.
