Make driving more dangerous
Research by Newcastle University has suggested that making driving more dangerous and hazardous would increase the standard of driving
The research surveyed over 1500 respondents and the results suggest that drivers actually get bored at the wheel, therefore seeking some excitement by driving over the speed limit or overtaking. Researchers suggest that by making roads more hazardous, such as removing kerbs to mix pedestrian with vehicle traffic, will actually make drivers more cautious.
