Pedestrians warned not to use motorways

The Highways Agency has released a warning to pedestrians not to use the motorway network as a shortcut from parties

The North West Traffic Officers have patrolled the motorway network for 5 years and have seen a recent spike in the number of pedestrians using the motorway as a shortcut home, nearly 12 incidents a day. Anyone caught walking along the motorway, slip roads or hard shoulder will face a £30 fixed penalty notice fine.
