Draft legislation has been put forward to reduce the fine for insufficient tyre tread depth on a motorcycle tyre
The changes will bring the fixed penalty fine in-line with the level for other non-commercial vehicles tyres. If approved by parliament this will also reduce the fine for non-UK residents. The amendment will put right a previous inadvertent change to the law. Bald tyre offences fall under construction and use.
