Eco-car clubs to get extra funding

The Government is to give £40,000 in funding to support the development of eco-car clubs in the UK

The pay-as-you-go style clubs, which offer membership to its customers, allows drivers to rent a low carbon (typically 33% less CO2) vehicle for short periods of time. London is the hub of car clubs in the UK, with 100,000 members. The £40,000 is for Carplus, the national transport charity, to continue its core services of accreditation, data collection and information services for the promotion and development of car clubs.
