Insurance policies may not cover you for misfuelling your vehicle, costing more than £5000 to repair
The problem has been bought to the forefront by the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) who have discovered that there are 150,000 misfuelling cases a year, 95% of which involve drivers filling up diesel vehicles with petrol. BIBA advises people to check their insurance policy and whether it actually covers for misfuelling. It has been estimated by BIBA that 57% of motorcycle insurance policies do not cover misfuelling incidents.
