Passenger jailed for death by dangerous
A man has been imprisoned for 4 years after judges found him partly responsible for an accident in which a young couple died
The incident occurred on the A1 after the car in which the man and his partner, who was driving, aquaplaned at 113mph into a stationery vehicle which had broken down, instantly killing a young couple. The judge said that the man was aware that his partner was over the drink drive limit and driving too fast for the conditions of the road and did nothing about it. He was also banned from driving for 4 years and ordered to pay nearly £20,000 in costs; his partner was jailed for 7 years.
