Road works stopped over Christmas

The Highways Agency is finishing off or temporarily stopping road work activity over the busy Christmas and New Year period

35 road works have been completed and 44 are stopping before 06:00 on Thursday 24 December to assist drivers whilst travelling over the holiday period. 34 road works will remain for the safety of drivers. The 27 December is statistically the busiest day of the Christmas holiday, with traffic volume expected to be 50% higher than on a normal Sunday.  The busiest time will be between 10:00 and 12:00.
