Prepare for the cold weather
Drivers are being urged to make sure their vehicle is well maintained before the cold weather
The Institute of Advanced motorists (IAM) is urging motorists to do the essential winter checks on their cars. Things such as making sure tyres are correctly inflated and that the tread depth is above the recommended 3mm. Ensure that windscreen wipers work and that headlights, brake lights and reversing lights function correctly. The IAM go on to say that ten out of eleven councils have failed to repair their roads after last winter’s weather and with upcoming budget cuts the road conditions will only get worse.
