Quitting could cost you

Motorists who leave their car running in the morning to clear frost and ice could face fines

Drivers could face a £30 fine from an offence under the Road Traffic Act known as ‘Quitting’, where a person leaves their vehicles’ engine running whilst not actually in the vehicle. So far Leicestershire Police has threatened motorists with the fine as thieves target those who leave the keys in the ignition.
