A youth road safety initiative in Thailand provides motorcycle helmets blessed by monks
The helmets have been funded by religious donations, a key merit making for Buddhists. The helmets are then blessed by a respectful monk to help reinforce the belief that wearing a motorcycle helmet will provide a safe ride. The scheme has been implemented in over 400 secondary schools in Thailand.
