Disqualified drivers charged too much

An investigation by the Department for Transport has discovered that over 20 years drivers have been wrongly charged for medical examinations

So far over 3,000 motorists have been wrongly charged a £90 fee for the medical examination when they come to apply to the DVLA to get their licence back. Under a certain set of circumstances in cases where a driver has been disqualified from driving, specifically due to drink driving, current UK law doesn’t allow for this fee to be charged to the person applying for their licence.
