Go easy on motorists, says Government

Norman Baker, transport minister, has called for local councils, parking authorities and wheel clampers to “go easy” on motorists

He suggests that a softer touch and common sense be used when dealing with situations involving motorists, especially those that may be more vulnerable. He gives an example of allowing a pregnant woman to park up outside a shop. He warns councils that they must not use parking fines as a way to boost lost revenue and that they should use their powers to “do the right thing”.
