South Yorkshire Police have charged a man with riding a Segway on a pavement
This is the first case in Britain of a rider being prosecuted for riding the upright scooter. He was on his way to the local shops, riding on the pavement, when a Police car flagged him down. He was charged with driving a motor vehicle on the pavement. He has since pleaded not guilty to the charge, which could open a review of the classification of the upright scooters.
