Transport Secretary, Phillip Hammond, has set out a series of new powers to help VOSA tackle overloaded vehicles, driver’s hour’s infringements and cabotage rules
In addition Scottish VOSA inspectors will for the first time be able to stop offenders independently from the Police. The plans will help tackle hauliers form the EU competing unfairly with UK businesses. From 2009 VOSA investigated nearly 174,000 vehicles, over half of which were from outside of the UK.
