The Department for Transport’s Safety Helmet Assessment and Ratings Programme (SHARP for short) has added another 25 helmets to its list
The star ratings scheme uses a wide range of tests to provide riders with more information on how protective a motorbike helmet will be along with price, style and fit information. The scheme has tested 150 helmets so far providing comprehensive and reliable information. The DfT suggest that if every rider wore the safest helmet available 50 lives could be saved each year.
