Officials at the Nurburgring track in Germany have taken delivery of the world’s fastest fire engine
The vehicle, a specially converted Nissan GT-R can reach speeds of 190mph and accelerate from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. The car is needed on the race track so that they can get to any accident quickly, response time to anywhere on the circuit is 3.5 minutes. As the track attracts petrol-heads it was seen as a necessary safety requirement. Track owners are now planning to add more performance rescue vehicles.
