Rider attitudes to motorcycle helmet fit

The Transport Research Laboratory researches motorcyclist attitudes to helmet fit and the mechanisms involved in helmet loss

The research is designed to better inform the industry and consumers on motorcycle helmet loss through physical testing and user surveys of attitudes to helmet fit. By quantifying the importance of factors such as inertia, head geometry and misuse through collecting real world data it is hoped that the current helmet test requirements can be evaluated fully as to their relevance.

If you wish to take part in the user survey, follow the link to the TRL press release on helmet loss survey.
