New guidance for prosecuting serious offences
The CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) has released draft guidance on prosecuting drivers for serious offences arising from motoring incidents
The guidance is designed to help prosecutors when dealing with charging offences arising from certain driving incidents. In doing so, it outlines charging standards and factors for consideration when prosecution decisions are taken. It involves fatal collisions, manslaughter and death by dangerous /careless driving and considers the issues around prosecuting. The consultation is open until 8 November 2012.
