Service station rip-off
Motorway service stations have come under fire from the IAM for marking up prices
The Institute of Advanced Motorists has research the prices on a variety of popular snack bar products and found that prices are marked up by nearly 40% on some items.
The biggest difference was in a packet of McCoy’s Cheeses & Onion crisps which went for 66p in the high street and 95p at a motorway service station.
The IAM warns that high prices may put off people taking effective rest breaks between driving and are calling for a complete review of motorway service station pricing.
