Young passengers fearful of their friends driving
Over half of young passengers in vehicles with young drivers fear for their safety, a survey reveals
The survey of over 8,000 young people also revealed that nearly 60% had feared for their lives when in a vehicle driven by one of their friends. For the full survey results visit the Road Safety Week website
- 24% have been a passenger with a young driver who had taken drugs or alcohol or both
- 54% have been a passenger with a young driver who has broken speed limits by more than 10mph
- 82% of young people support restrictions of at least one type for novice drivers
