Drink-Drive rehab course update

The Driving Standards Agency has put forward proposals to modernise the Drink-Drive Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS)

The proposals cover some key areas in the offering, financing and administration of the DDRS. These include:

  • Improved standards in the course content
  • Changes to the way courses are approved
  • Encourage more training providers to be involved in DDRS
  • Improve access to the scheme for motorists in high risk areas
  • Proposals that offenders pay for the course rather than taxpayers
