Motorway speeding statistics
Statistics from the DfT show that 49% of drivers exceed the speed limit on motorways
The bulletin, Free flow vehicle speeds in Great Britain 2010, shows that 49% of drivers exceed the 70mph limit, 14% by more than 10mph. The percentage of cars speeding no motorways was greatest between 8 and 9 in the evening. From 2000, speeds on built-up roads over 30mph decreased for every vehicle type.
