Gang caught hiding cocaine in car airbags
Two men pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine after they were caught hiding the drugs in modified car airbags
The gang modified the passenger airbags in a series of vehicles to create a remote locking 5kg hiding place for storing cocaine. There is surveillance footage available of the joint operation between the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) and the Metropolitan Police. They used a car in North London as a stash which they visited every so often to transfer the drugs to other vehicles and sell onto customers.
