Police officer faces jail for lying
Former detective constable faces prison after two counts of perverting the course of justice
Mr Butler was a detective constable with Avon and Somerset Police when he was caught speeding twice in Dorset and Cornwall. On returning the documents he falsified the name of the driver to avoid the speeding fine. Sentencing will be on May 20th.
