M1 to remain closed
Motorists face more travel misery as the fire under the M1 keeps the motorway closed
Engineers have been working through the night to try and get the raised section of the motorway, damaged by fire on Friday, in a state that the southbound lanes between junctions 1 and 4 can be reopened. The fire, thought to be caused by arson, was in a scrap yard under the motorway, which also stored gas cylinders.
