More speeders to get speed awareness courses

Thames Valley Police extend the range that they will offer speed awareness courses

Currently, motorists caught speeding in the Thames Valley area can, subject to their driving history, attend a speed awareness course at cost to them instead of accepting penalty points and a fine. This was offered to drivers who were travelling up to 10% plus 6 mph over the limit, the new plans will extend this threshold to 10% plus 9 mph. Thames Valley police suggest they will see an additional 6,000 drivers attending the course each year.
