Kent Police and Medway Magistrates Court convicting drink drivers within hours of arrest
A video link between the North Kent Police station and Medway Magistrates Court allows sentences for drink driving to be handed out on the same day of arrest. Already 4 drivers have been convicted under the scheme with their driving licences taken away due to disqualification. Only Kent has trialled the scheme.
