Motorcycling in the National Traffic Survey
The DfT Has released statistics from its annual National Traffic Survey
Focusing on motorcycle use and habits, the survey reveals some interesting figures
Age group most likely to use a motorcycle is 40-49 year olds at 32% out of a sample of 579. 93% of the sample was male.
The average motorcyclist spends 189 minutes per week on a bike doing around 7 journeys and riding 88 miles in the process.
Households that already own two or more cars/vans are 4.1% more likely to also own more than one motorcycle.
Regionally, the highest level of motorcycle ownership (licensed) is in the South East (excluding London) with the lowest in the North West
