Vehicle Licensing Statistics 2009
The DfT has published statistics from the DVLA on vehicle licensing
Summary points from the release are as follows:
- 34.3 million Vehicles registered in Great Britain by the end of 2009
- 300,000 less first time registrations in 2009 compared with 2008 – the lowest since 1995
- The most commonly registered vehicle was the Ford Fiesta
- 290,000 cars and vans were bought under the scrappage scheme to December 31 2009
Overall the figures seem to suggest a fall in the number of vehicles licensed, in fact the lowest year on year growth since 1991
