Careful on the roads on 19th December

A leading insurance company has compiled statistics that suggest the 19th December is the most dangerous day for motorists

The stats point to the 19th as the day that most car accidents and thefts occur with an increase of 40% in claims for thefts and crashes. Reasons could include people rushing around buying gifts and presents, poor visibility from improper windscreen demisting or luggage compartments full of purchases. ACOPO are aiming to increase their random breath tests during the festive season to lower the number of accidents from drink driving.
