Producing driving documents whilst away

Short guide to explaining what can be done if you are required to produce driving documents but you are away from home

If you are away from home, such as on a business trip or on holiday and find that you are required to produce your driving documents, you can, produce the documents within 7 days at a nominated Police Station specified at the time the HORT1 producer was made or produce the documents at the nominated Police Station as soon as possible, the delay in producing the documents is taken on a case by case basis

There is never a guarantee that the reasons for not producing your driving documents in the required time will be accepted and you could face being prosecuted. The easiest way to avoid such a situation is to take your documents with you, but never store them in the glove compartment of your car.
