Darth Vader rescued from the M1

Original Darth Vader actor, David Prowse, was rescued from the M1 after breaking down

He was travelling north to Burton-on-Trent when warning lights appeared on his dashboard. He managed to pull over to the hard shoulder and called emergency services from a roadside telephone. A traffic officer was dispatched from the East Midlands Control Centre and his Mercedes was quickly recovered by a breakdown service. David also played the green cross code man from the 70s and 80s. His car was previously owned by R2D2 actor Kenny Baker.
