Stay awake
Bored drivers could soon have their car tell them to wake up
German manufacturer Daimler did a test along a 4-hour stretch of the Autobahn to make the journey as boring as possible. The drivers weren’t allowed to play the radio of chat whilst they were driving and their heart rate and brain frequency were both measured during the test. Every 20 minutes they were asked to push a button every time they heard a specific tone so that their level of alertness and reaction times could be measured.
