Drug Driving
The Transport Secretary has launched a new TV ad campaign to highlight the dangers and consequences of Drug Driving
The new advert shows that Police can detect when a driver is on drugs due to the way they affect the body. The punishment for being found driving under the influence of drugs is the same as drink driving, 12 month ban, criminal record and a fine. One in five drivers killed in road traffic accidents may have had a drug in their system that impaired their senses. Police forces will be targeting drug drivers during the August holidays and music festivals.
