Break glass in case of emergency

A Chinese bus company is to use bricks as a means for passengers to escape in case of emergency

The idea replaces the traditional safety hammer as the company found that the hammers were constantly being stolen. Who would want to steal a brick? They are painted yellow with “emergency use” written in big lettering and hidden underneath the seats. They are currently trialling the idea but if it proves successful will equip all 700 of its buses with bricks.
